hi, i'm mere.
i have always been a collector.
trinkets, plants, artwork, crystals, shoes and tattoos.
anything that brought me joy.
Then I had my babies, and the most important collection of all began...photographing moments, the big ones and the little ones. The in-between ones touched my heart most especially. I was missing so much of the magic when I was knee-deep in our day to day chaos, and photography allowed me to bottle it, to keep forever. I see photos as a time capsule of how life is right now, and capturing the reality, connection, and emotion - that's my jam.
I started collecting moments for other families, showing them just how magic they were, and the joy kept coming.
Now it's what I do. I take photos of families, at their biggest milestones, and in their everyday. Weddings, pregnancy, newborn and family life. There is so much beauty in all the days.
a little about me
I'm a wife, a mum of three "spirited" children, a crazy cat and dog lady.
We live in Cambridge, Kemureti, New Zealand, but home is wherever our special people are. That could be here in the town of trees, Wellington, Auckland, or Nelson. We visit our many 'homes' often.
I drink a lot of coffee, am not afraid of colour, adore spontaneous dance parties, and will forever be battling the never-ending washing pile.
These are a few of my favourite things...
-
Pockets of light and shadow
-
Shooting in your home because there is something very sentimental about being surrounded by all your special things
-
Magical locations that spark something for your family, be it a favourite park where you walk the dog, or a beach you visit for sandcastle building
-
Little hands dragging me to their rooms to show me their favourite cuddly toy, or how high they can bounce on the bed
-
Coffee and morning tea at the dining table, catching glances between parents that walk the fine line of exasperation and joy
-
Sniffing newborn heads, gazing in awe at what you created, and the tangle of arms and legs on the couch
-
Waiting in a nursery that's ready for the babe in your belly to arrive
-
Watery eyes when your dad hands you to your almost-husband at the end of the aisle, and flower girls dancing during the speeches
If you too crave authenticity, and want to capture the magic in your now, check out all the details, and book a session.
